Up the Creek, One to Watch finalist 2012
2nd place runner-up, Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year 2011
'… An inventive comic thinker, with surrealism that creates weird imagery with robust, if unlikely, internal logic. He delivers with the passion of an insane preacher, and there’s a keen off-the-wall wit throughout…' Steve Bennet, Chortle
'… A smart surrealist…' The Independent
Our Closer for the show is HARRIET KEMSLEY
Harriet began stand up at the turn of 2011 and it’s been a bit of a whirlwind. That year she won nationwide female comedy competition Funny’s Funny, was named Up The Creek’s One to Watch and has gone on to be a Laughing Horse and Leicester Square New Act Finalist and to win Bath Comedy Festival New Act of the Year and Brighton Comedy Festival New Act of the Year.
‘A hilarious combination of bashful and weird,’ Three Weeks
‘A quirky, very funny new stand up..her style is refreshingly original and she’s a seriously good writer,’ Time Out
Don Biswas is one of the best political, topicial, observational comedians in the country.
Don combines both razor sharp one-liners, with humour about having Dyspraxia (organization and coordination difficulties) and mild traits of Asperger's Syndrome, and the effect it has on people, while coming from a middle class Indian family.
JAMES LOVERIDGE as MC
Drawing on the most embarrassing recesses of his own life James Loveridge is a hilarious story teller who captivates and entertains audiences with his cheeky yet charming personality. Having performed all over the country as well as Sydney, Spain and the Edinburgh Comedy Festival, James is a regular MC and growing force on the stand up comedy circuit. He manages to weave his quick-witted charm together with his natural story telling ability to make him one of the most exciting prospects out there and a raconteur of the truest form.
‘Loveridge’s timing is exceptional; he knows exactly where in a joke to place the punchline…This undoubtedly is the best free show that I have seen at the Fringe.‘ ★★★★★ – Broadway Baby
‘Undeniably great …you are automatically drawn to his inexplicable way of storytelling that gets you doubled over laughing in seconds.’ ★★★★★ –www.herdmu.com
