What type of grass is this please?
I have bought several grass seeds for my back garden but none of the grass sprouts own seeds as this one on photos below.
I would like to buy grass seeds like those ones. Is there a special name for those? I know back home this is called "self seeding" grass. Grass grows, sprouts seeds, they dry and fall off and grass spreads this way, via its own seeds.
No idea why the grass in my back garden does not have seeds like that that growing out of it or where can I buy grass like that?
Any pointers fro clever people on here?
This grass (from photos) grows in the front garden, it is a small patch of grass just a small square but it is very lush, lovely green and much wider "leaves" than the one i have in my back garden.
You can see stalks with grass seeds among it.

It's not so much about the grass variety Anka, but rather how long you let it grow without mowing or cutting it. You'll find that after a while most lawn type grasses will develop stalks and seed heads. You have to wait until you see the seed heads turn dry and the actual seed start to fall before you cut. That will allow the grass to self seed. In a way you're allowing it to develop more like a meadow. One of my neighbours has taken that approach and it does get quite long before they cut it back in late summer/early autumn. You might even want to go the whole hog and sow meadow mix seeds so you get a beautiful combination of grasses and wild flowers and lots of insects visiting. You can't sunbathe on it though!
PS - the seeding grass in your picture could be rye. -

Agreed, I thought a Dwarf perennial Rye grass, (I'm just reading off my seed packet,) but Rye is pretty commonplace.
