Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

They say that they are not releasing train times for this service. Does anyone know how to find out what approximately what time the train will pass Finsbury Park, Harringay etc,?

Whoa there!  Flying Scotsman will only be hauling the train from York to Edinburgh this Saturday.

Similarly, on the Kings Cross - Newcastle day trip today FS is only running York - Newcastle and return.

It   will   be passing through Harringay some time on the evening of Thursday 19th May, but times for that would not yet be available under normal circumstances.  And it's due to work a train from Paddington Saturday 21 May, again no times yet.

As for finding times in advance, today's excursion is visible on Real Time Trains, including the steam-hauled legs, but was only posted there yesterday evening I think.  The 'National Preservation' forum is worth looking at for information not on the Uksteam site.  But not everything is public - the movements of the Royal Train are kept underneath the radar, for example.

The railtour operators have agreed a "voluntary" ban on 60103 hauling railtours on the ECML south of Doncaster due to the lineside trespass problems when it last ran from King's Cross on 25 February. This ban will remain until the loco's celebrity staus is judged to have worn off.

I'm puzzled that the line out of Paddington is still OK though, two Saturdays in a row - 21st and 28th, approx time 0930 on the 28th given out on Steam Dreams' website this morning because there are a few tickets unsold!

Assume not so many foot crossings and better fencing on the GWML?

Or no trespass transgressions - yet.....  As I posted back in February, even HoL members/readers were not immune from trespassitis dammit.

Addressing the initial 'how do we find out' question: by 1130 Friday the train timings for Saturday's Kings Cross-York diesel hauled leg are findable on the Real Time Trains site, and with a bit of clicking the times forward from York, steam hauled, are also visible.

So it's possible that Thursday's timings will appear shortly before the date unless (as Glenn indicates) movements and timings close to London are to be discouraged/obscured.
