Hi - where is it passing through, please? I live at Tottenham Hale.

East Coast Mainline: Finsbury Park, Harringay, Hornsey and Alexandra Palace.

Is it this one?  or is that a rival?  This goes though SoTo at 8.45 a m .  Can't work out if it's a diesel or not - I only get out of bed for the proper choof-choofs.

Pam, proper choof-choof? Yes and no.

That is a rival train, it will be diesel-hauled through SoTo, and will only pick up its steam loco (Union of South Africa) at Ely on the way to York.

However, the steam loco (plus support coach with tools, extra footplate crew and so on) has to get to Ely from its base at Southall, which it will do very early on Saturday, passing through Finsbury Park, Harringay etc around 0545. So, a chance to see two steamers on the same morning, with breakfast inbetween!

PS I'm reading a Haringey Libraries book, 'Life Along the Line' by Tony Reevy: almost 200 photos by Winston Link, in large format and high quality plus lots of commentary on how he made them. There's even a CD with his sound recordings - proper choof-choof indeed! I borrowed it from Hornsey Library.

Tak.

05.45 only if on the way home from a party or an election count.

One day someone will give me a gift card to go on one of these rides. Pullman only, thanks.
