Arum or Calla lillies
Hello, I keep admiring my neighbours front gardens bursting with calla or arum lillies. They look amazing at this time of year.
Does anyone know if they will grow happily in pots, and if so, what time of year I should try my luck to get a potful? They're in flower right now, so I assume it's best not to disturb them at the moment.

Calla lilies do really well in pots. Now is the ideal time of year to plant the tubers as there should be no risk of frost. They like rich, moisture retentive soil and lots of sunshine (the ones on my street seem to do best on the south facing side of the road).
The advantage of pots is that in the winter, when they are dormant, you can move them to to side of the house where they'll benefit from a little warmth from the brickwork and should avoid freezing through. -
