Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

HOL Flower Show - August (aka. what's good in your garden *now*)

All that rain pouring down is a sure sign of August...

FAQ
  • What's it all about? See here.
  • Great - where can I see all the 'shows'? See here.
  • Can I contribute? Most welcome. If you can make the image file size modest (say less than 100k), it will be quicker to upload and view.

I have been seeing them all over the place for a few weeks now so it was something of a relief when the first Cosmos opened up this morning. It is a dwarf variety so maybe they take longer to get going than others?

A rather damp Sedum 'Purple Emperor'.

A rather delicate Fuchsia.

Ah Alistair, I'm afraid almost nothing looks good in my garden in August. The dahlias have galloping mildew and most everything else has collapsed.

But I shall see if I can find a picture of something just so your lovely photos aren't alone for too long..
Thanks. All in good time - I confess that a number of the plants that I thought were going to appear in my garden have failed to materialise and I've been tempted to hop over the fence to my neighbour's which looks very colourful...
Afraid this is the only thing that looks okay in my garden at the moment, a Euconis (Pineapple Lily). This was taken about a week ago - since then the flowers have gone a really weird green colour (weird but nice).

Here's three for August Alistair:

Cardoon
Penestom
Fuschia
