Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi there,

I am a complete gardening novice, so apologies for my ignorance.  Could anyone please tell me what the names are of 2 flowering plants we have in our garden? (we live in Wood Green).  Please see attached photos.

One plant is a purple flowering ground cover plant, which grows in our front garden, and also grows in many neighbouring houses front gardens along our street.  The other plant is a white flowering bush/shrub, which smells gorgeous in the summer.

Also, if you have any hints and tips as to how to grow these plants, it would be much appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

Katherine

The purple stuff in Campanula - Google it and you'll find out more - it self seeds everywhere and looks really pretty this time of year.

not sure about the white one

Happy Gardening :)

The second one looks like Choisya 'Aztec Pearl'

It does look like choisya but the leaves are narrower than the one you normally see. Probably different variant. Likes sun and is evergreen. Do the flowers smell?

Hi!  Thank you.  Yes, the flowers smell, and they smell amazing!...a sort of sweet honey-like smell wafts through the garden day and night.

1st, blue flowers - def a campanula, not sure what variety though  - search google images

2nd, white flowers shrub - def a Choisya 'Aztec Pearl'

We also have the white flowered bush.  It is really easy to maintain, I just prune it when it gets too big and it doesnt seem to bother.  Great to have a name though because sometimes I have pruned at the wrong time and have ended up with fewer flowers.
