Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We have herbs and baytree, and apples from the branches that hang over into our garden.

In the olden days before having a garden we used to make our own beansprouts (mung beans and a little bit of water in a shallow dish, they sprout within days).

Any more suggestions for a lazy gardener?

You can grow lots of lettuces in pots. Also, I grow potatoes in tyres in my back yard. You half fill the tyre with soil, plant a few potatoes, cover with more soil. When the shoots of the potato stick out, you put another tyre on the top and fill that with soil. Repeat until you have a few tyres (depending on size of tyre, speed of potato growth, etc.) then remove the tyres and get at the produce.

Depends on your definition of lazy! I don't grow any food in my garden apart from the odd herb, but I did try tomatoes in pots one year and it was great - so long as you give them water and some food they do just fine. Have wondered about potatoes too, so very interested to see Keir's post.

I'd grow more veggies, but I just can't face giving the precious bits of sun in my garden over to them!
Thanks for the ideas!
