Um, the 'race' was tight. The final result of course not so.

As for dignity, fair call.

Ian! My man!

(Word is, round here, you gotta say who you is. If'n they find out y'all's a politician, and you ain't said nothin, an all, they pretty much gon' kick yo' ass. You was 'deputy Labour somebody' or somethin. 'Fess up bro'. Them's the rules.)

We can all criticise things like the abandoned proposal to sell part of Down Lane Park (which I know you care about) and Claire handled it badly. The Mosaic Tendency is, hopefully about younger people like her, and Nora, and Stuart, and Dilek, and Eugene, and John, and Harry, and Richard, and Makbule, running for the council and doing things with Labour values. They have inherited a bit of a mess, of Labour's own making for the most part, and they are working hard to put it right. It's an enterprise. I don't think for one single moment that Claire thought she deserved it. I think she was just pleased.

They used mosaic data to help them identify people who might support candidates like Nora. It went against all our instincts and, in the end, the good burghers of the Ladder had their own views. They preferred the Liberal Democrats. I'm sure it will all be great.

We are aware that Ian is a former deputy leader of Haringey Council.

Just to clarify now that the election is over, if anyone holds a political office, a simple declaration is sufficient within the body of one's comments. It is not necessary to reiterate it every time they post or on any post that is non-political, a little common sense is all that is required.

You don't need to hold office to set of the 'politician alarm' around here. Unless you're a Lib Dem.

We have to wait and see what happens. Of course there will be mistakes. If you don't make mistakes you aren't doing the job. You and I both agree mostly about where we need to get to, and what obstacles there are in the way. We've got some real opportunities too, since so many neighbouring boroughs turned red last week. Some of our new councillors are fiercely intelligent and committed to residents' interests. Shame Nora won't be one of them.

I am actually getting fed up with politicians accusing us of not voting for the right people as if they know how we voted. Nora probably got a LOT of her votes from on here. We think she's fabulous too. It is NOT our fault, we know we missed out (Ditto Chris!). Just leave us alone, we're not a bunch of racist middle class whingers.

Right, time we organised some drinks.
