Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

My Dell printer has stopped working and looks like fixing it will be more expensive than getting a new one so I'm looking for a recycling centre that will take it or any other ideas as to how to dispose it.

I checked on recycle now but printers is not a category - they have computers and laptops under electronics so I'm not sure I can carry it all the way there to be told they can't take it

Has anyone had experience recycling old printers?

Thank you

Cosette

There is an electrics section up at the Wood Green Recycling centre which always seems to have some amazing looking equipment being chucked out when I go there, (though goodness knows how much use is made of it).

Thanks Hugh

I’m looking for the Wood Green centre phone to ask but No luck so far and they might not pick up, think I’ll risk visiting without the printer first and ask if they take them then report back for any one who might be wondering

I've just been up there myself and as a result of what I found, ended up in a phone conversation with the manager for all the Reuse and Recycling centres about paint reuse and disposal.

As part of that I found their website. They don't specifically mention printers or small electrics. The centre is run by London Energy Ltd - website - http://wiseuptowaste.org.uk/recycle/reuse-and-recycling-centres/har...

Here's their page on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

You could also contact Bright Sparks in Finsbury Park.

Thanks Hugh, I've contacted Bright Sparks (great initiative!) to see if they can take it

I am told that you can only take things to Wood Gn  Western Rd recycling  in a vehicle.   No walk-ins  allowed    no trolleys etc    This presumably is to stop "traders" not paying their £££££   ! !
