Thank you very much Hugh! it is very important for us to have such historical photos!!! God bless you and wish you have a very peaceful and nice Easter with your family and friends!!!
Fr Pavlos
My brother was christened here by the then vicar, the Rev Peter Bradford in 1948. I was a cub and then scout there until the early 50s.
Have you seen it recently, Richard? They've done a wonderful job on the roof with some heritage lottery funding
The inside looks a world away from the interior you'd have known.
I sang in the choir. We were paid 5/- a week and 7/6d for each wedding. It was amazingly good money in those days and funded me through several bikes and other luxuries. St Peter's was High Anglican in those days. The vicar was Father John Bradford. This would have been 1953-1957.
Roof looks great, Hugh!
Good stuff Geraldine. Fr Bradford (he was that high!) as he was known was a pretty austere chap to us lads. That was good money - I started a paper round in about 1956 and got 7/6 a week evenings and 12/- mornings. Then I started "knocking up" (putting the rounds together - earlier start but 15/- a week!
Dear All,
We would appreciate if you had and could send us any photos from the Church (outside or inside), from Christenings or any other services.
Thank you very much!
God Bless
