Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

How One of Harringay's Schools Could Have Looked

I'm not sure whether this 1890 'second design' was for either one of the Harringay schools in particular, or just for either of them.

I can't picture the exact design of either school as they exist today, but from memory, I don't think either school finally chose this option.

I've seen that image before and I think it looks more like North Harringay rather than South Harringay.  It's also similar in design to Stroud Green Primary.

Yes, I thought the same. It's also not a million miles away from the design of Alexandra Park School near Park View School, I noticed the other day.

It's not unlike Woodlands Park (now Chestnuts :-( ) either. I suppose keeping to the school building regulations, as well as the style of the times, meant that most schools in the county looked similar.

I think you mean Heartlands High School Hugh, but yes I agree

This is interesting (sorry this seems to have come out in the wrong order) It's from The Buildings of England by Cherry & Pevsner)
